All designers, art directors, design firms and departments, ad agencies, marketing practices, clients, manufacturers and student or novice designers are welcome to join us. Spark accepts and promotes a wide range of design, designers and "creatives." As you'll see on our Categories page, this ranges from product design to advertising, digital animation to brick and mortar architecture. Additionally, there are special awards (at the jury's option) in every category for "concept" design-- that is, innovative designs that have yet to find a manufacturer or are in preliminary stages of development, as well as student and novice opportunities. Each entrant may submit any number of products. Whenever possible, jury decisions are made from the actual product or full-scale model. The only “virtual” submissions are for very large equipment, interiors, public spaces, buildings, digital and website design. All other designs are judged in physical, production or published form. 1. Registration: Closing date for online registration entry forms: • Early (discounted) registration—deadline October 31, 2006. Entry fee: $180 (Student or nonprofessional: $90) • Standard registration—deadline December 15, 2006. Entry fee $200 (Student or novice: $100) • Late registration—deadline January 15, 2007. Entry fee $250 (Student or novice: $125) 2. Please note—campaign or series entries can be submitted with one registration and the entrant charged a single campaign/series registration fee ($50 surcharge). If your additional designs are over-size in scale or weight, please submit only one representative design as original exhibit, with the remaining designs in the series presented in images (either on boards or cd and/or as a video presentation.) 3. There is an optional Marketing Services Program that is available to award winners at extra cost (but well worth it!). Those services and costs are detailed here: Marketing Services. 4. Entry Delivery Entrants will receive a SparkAwards Entry kit beginning in November, which details all presentation, delivery and shipping information. The Spark Entry Director will also contact each entrant to confirm that category's exact delivery date. Entrants are responsible for delivery and pickup. All designs will be expected at the Jury site during the timeframe of January 29 to February 9, 2007, depending upon entry category. 5. Jury: mid-February, 2007 6. Award notification: end of February, 2007 7. Collection of entries You will be notified of the pick-up dates for your category and need to remove your work within that time period. The general time frame is February 19--28. Delivery and collection: weekdays from 9.00 a.m. to 4.00 p.m. (Winner's entries will stay onsite for later exhibition.) 8. SparkAwards Ceremony, HotSpark Night and SparkLive Exhibition: March 2, 2007 9. Online Exhibition: March 2007 to March, 2008.
